What does “Sensitive” mean?
The new Rodenstock Sensitive technology is based on extensive research in the field of eye biometry. Using precise measurement with the DNEye® Scanner the manufacturer obtains detailed data about each eye (not only diopters), but also about:
- its individual shape,
- size
- or behaviour under different lighting conditions.
A new parameter has been added to this data: the Visual Sensitivity Index, which determines how responsive each individual person is to visual stimuli. The B.I.G. EXACT® Sensitive lens design is then based on this index.
The result? Even more natural transitions between distances, faster orientation in space, sharper and higher contrast images, and exceptional visual comfort throughout the day while working, reading and driving.
Why is visual sensitivity important?
Each eye processes visual information differently. Human vision consists of two subsystems:
- central vision that focuses on detail,
- and peripheral vision, which allows us to orient ourselves in space.
The new Rodenstock Sensitive lenses take both of these aspects into account and optimise image perception according to how the eyes react to light and movement.
This means that even if you change your view frequently (e.g. from the computer monitor to the distance, from the dashboard to the road), the image remains stable and your eyes get less tired.
How does biometric vision measurement work?
In biometric measurement using DNEye® Scanner we collect thousands of data points about your eyes. This data is then used to manufacture lenses to match the actual parameters of your vision.
With the B.I.G. VISION® concept, Rodenstock has already scanned millions of eyes and created the world’s most extensive biometric database. Thanks to it, artificial intelligence can determine exactly how light refracts in different parts of the eye, resulting in lenses that provide the highest possible vision accuracy.
