However, you may also notice generally <strong>blurred text when reading,<\/strong> <strong>looking at your mobile phone<\/strong>, etc. This gradually forces you to <strong>move the text further away from your eyes<\/strong> to see it more clearly. <strong>Variability in<\/strong> vision <strong>during the day <\/strong>or depending on the light is also common. Some people may also experience headaches when working at close range for long periods of time, or more eyestrain and tearing.   <br\/>If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, it's time to see an optometrist for advice on how to proceed.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to choose the right reading glasses - step by step procedure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choosing reading glasses is not just about design. It is important to have the right <strong>vision correction for comfortable vision<\/strong>. It's good to know whether you will use the glasses occasionally in your leisure time or whether they will be your main work aid. If you already wear distance glasses, the approach to selecting reading glasses is different than for clients who see into the distance without correction.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Vision examination and determination of correct diopters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Have your eyesight professionally measured<\/strong> before you start choosing your glasses. The value for reading glasses is given by the so-called <strong>add (ADD) <\/strong>- the addition to near. During the eye examination, we will also perform an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aleszejdl.cz\/en\/eye-examination-and-services\/biometrics-and-medical-eye-screening\/\">eye screening<\/a>, which <strong>can predict<\/strong> cataracts, keratoconus, or changes in the retina based on the values obtained.  <\/p>\n        <div class=\"component component-post-button my-12 xl:my-16 text-center\">\n            \t        <a href=\"https:\/\/rezervace.aleszejdl.cz\/form.php?id_form=1\" class=\"btn btn-primary xl:px-14 !text-white !no-underline\" target=\"_blank\">\n            \t\tMake an appointment for an eye examination\n      <\/a>\n\n      <\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is adice?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find the <strong>add<\/strong> value <strong>(ADD)<\/strong> in the result of a diopter examination from your doctor or optician; it is the <strong>difference between the distance and near diopters<\/strong>. It indicates <strong>how many diopters need to be added<\/strong> for the eye to see clearly at the chosen <strong>near distance<\/strong>. It depends on <strong>how close<\/strong> you need to see (reading ~40 cm vs <strong>computer<\/strong> further away). If you <strong>do not have a distance diopter (0 D)<\/strong>, the addition corresponds to the resulting near diopter.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you <strong>have a distance diopter<\/strong>, the addition is <strong>added to<\/strong> the distance diopter: for <strong>farsighted<\/strong> (plus) <strong>people<\/strong> the resulting reading diopter <strong>is higher<\/strong>, for <strong>nearsighted<\/strong> (minus) <strong>people<\/strong> the addition <strong>reduces the distance diopter<\/strong> and the <strong>near glasses<\/strong> can have a <strong>minus value<\/strong>. Therefore, myopes often just need to <strong>take off their distance glasses for reading<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Selection of reading frames<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can choose from <strong>standard dioptric frames<\/strong> with standard lens sizes and a <strong>wide reading field of view<\/strong>. Expect compromises in comfort and <strong>durability with cheaper models<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Luxury reading glasses<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Premium <strong>trim materials<\/strong> (titanium\/acetate), <strong>hinge quality<\/strong>, surface finish, <strong>timeless design<\/strong> and service. <strong>Luxury reading glasses<\/strong> are not just about aesthetics, but also <strong>ergonomics<\/strong> and <strong>durability<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Men's reading glasses<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More often <strong>wider fronts<\/strong>, longer sides, moderate colours and <strong>more angular shapes<\/strong>. However, we always recommend choosing <strong>according to facial anatomy<\/strong>, not purely by gender. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>Choice of lenses<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you only need glasses <strong>for one distance<\/strong> (reading, manual work), <strong>single-focal l<\/strong> enses are best (one diopter across the entire surface, wide field of vision for the distance).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, if you <strong>alternate distances<\/strong> (papers on the table and a <strong>farther monitor<\/strong>) or want to <strong>see into the distance,<\/strong> the single-focus solution <strong>won't be as sharp<\/strong> for everything and the <strong>distance will be blurry<\/strong>. For such cases, <strong>multifocal lenses<\/strong> are more suitable - <strong>office<\/strong> or <strong>multifocal<\/strong> for all-day wear. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For lenses, we choose <strong>surface treatments<\/strong> (resistance, <strong>antireflective<\/strong>, hydro\/oleophobic). <strong>For digital equipment<\/strong>, we recommend <strong>a blue light filter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n        <div class=\"component component-post-cite my-12 xl:my-24\">\n          <div class=\"container\">\n            \t\n\t\t<div class=\"mb-12\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"text-xl md:text-3xl xl:text-4xl xl:leading-snug mb-8\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>\u201cCustomers often want just plain reading glasses, but such glasses don\u2019t always do them a&nbsp;good service for close-up work. They don't have to match your vision, they don't address the differences between your right and left eye, and they don't take into account the<strong> individual distance of your pupils<\/strong>. The lenses themselves are of poor quality and have optical defects that cause glare and distortion.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking through such glasses is more taxing on the eyes and brain and can cause <strong>eye discomfort<\/strong>. The frames often don't fit properly, can push or fall off and are difficult to adjust due to their material.   <br\/><strong>We do not recommend these glasses for long-term use.<\/strong>  However, they can be used to quickly resolve an urgent situation. If you want to prevent headaches, eye fatigue and impaired vision, we recommend a pair of custom-made glasses from an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aleszejdl.cz\/en\/\">optician<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not sure what glasses are best for you?
